Golf is a big ole Puzzle that you can’t solve!
Golf is a puzzle that can’t be solved and when you think you have the pieces change.
I fixed the slice slice BABY then there was the sway on my backswing, the early extension and lifting my head at the top of the back swing. Now I’m hitting my irons off the heel. Bad bad shots and going low and right. I swore it was hitting of the toe so I went to my backyard net and got out the foot spray( this will show you impact thanks Martin Hall) amd it’s all off the heel! Arrrrgggg ! Well another good flogging. Golf spelled backwards which my swing IS backwards. So I had to video my swing to see what on earth I was doing wrong now.
Well it’s a big ole casting over the top move. Thought I fixed that one but the puzzle changed AGAIN! I worked on it in the yard and back to the range. After many bad shots there I had to take a break and figured I could set up my phone camera on this chair propped up with my water bottle. Whatever it takes right? Still casting over the top. I move my shoulders like a helicopter and need to move like a Ferris Wheel. Soooooo back to the yard net. Worked on THAT one and at the last video it better. The hands are still casting over the top some but a lot less. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!! When I’m able to do this right the ball shoots up higher and farther so little baby steps and on puzzle piece at a time.
Lisa got it right. She said” You need the summer of Dan and do the exact opposite of everything you do in your swing. “ Hilarious! Two great Seinfeld references The Summer of George season 8 episode 22 and season 5 episode 22 where George does the exact opposite of every notion he’s ever had and gets hired by th New York Yankees! Funny stuff there.
Ben Hogan said “Reverse every natural instinct and do the opposite of what you’re inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing.” Well that’s me for sure. Larry David Seinfeld co creator is a golfer. I wonder if he borrowed Hogans quote for George. TheGeorge character is based on Larry’s life. Ben Hogan also said “Relax? How can you relax and play golf? You have to grip the club don’t you?”
